The FAG 62212 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing combines dimensions of 60 × 110 × 28 mm with ground seals on both sides for protected bearing arrangements under predominantly radial loads.
The single-row deep groove ball bearing 62212 -2RSR from FAG accommodates radial loads as well as light axial forces in both directions. With an inside diameter of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm, this design offers standardised mounting dimensions for industrial machinery and shafts. Manufactured from conventional standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) and fitted with a sheet steel cage, it ensures smooth running in rotating assemblies.
Design engineers and users prefer to use the 62212 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing in rotating bearing locations that need to be protected from external particles. The design is suitable for applications where operating temperatures range from -20 to +100 degrees. Thanks to the flangeless cylindrical outer ring, the rolling bearing can be fitted directly into suitable housing bores, whilst the sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly.
The 2RSR designation indicates two abutting sealing lips arranged on both sides. These come into contact with the inner ring and form a functional barrier against the ingress of dust and moisture. At the same time, they retain the lubricant inside the bearing. As contact seals inherently involve a certain amount of friction due to their design, this variant is suitable for environments exposed to dust or moisture. The standard radial bearing clearance supports typical installation conditions.
With a bore of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm, the roller bearing has defined key dimensions. These dimensions determine the design of the shaft and housing. The cylindrical outer ring, which has no groove or flange, facilitates direct installation in cylindrical bearing housings.
The 2RSR suffix designation indicates contact seals fitted on both sides. These sealing lips protect the internal raceways and balls from the ingress of contaminants and moisture. They also help to retain the grease inside the bearing unit, thereby reducing the need for maintenance during operation.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +100 degrees. The roller bearing steel, cage and sealing material are designed for this temperature range. For applications with different peak temperatures, special bearing designs or lubricants are required.
This design features the standard radial bearing clearance. The radial bearing clearance prior to installation is therefore dimensioned for standard shaft and housing fit specifications. This ensures trouble-free operation under normal operating conditions without any unexpected thermal overheating.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). This tried-and-tested material withstands high rolling stresses and ensures high dimensional stability during operation. The integrated sheet steel cage keeps the balls at a consistent distance from one another and helps to ensure even load distribution.
Manufacturing is carried out to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This standard tolerance class is intended for general drive and mechanical engineering applications. It enables a precise fit when mounting on shafts and in housings with standard manufacturing tolerances.
