The SKF 6202-Z single-row deep groove ball bearing, measuring 15x35x11 mm, is suitable for radial loads and features a compact design.
The 6202-Z deep groove ball bearing is a rolling bearing designed for industrial applications involving combined loads. With key dimensions of a 15 mm bore, 35 mm outside diameter and 11 mm width, the single-row design primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial forces. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, the component is designed for temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees. The SKF Explorer version is used in shaft bearings and drives in general mechanical engineering.
The bearing is used in rotating assemblies that require a compact mounting location. Thanks to its geometry, the 6202-Z deep groove ball bearing is suitable for mounting locations with limited radial installation space. The design accommodates radial forces and tolerates axial loads in both directions. The guided sheet steel cage evenly spaces the rolling elements and ensures smooth, low-friction operation.
The -Z designation refers to a sheet metal cover fitted on one side, which acts as a non-contact gap seal. It shields the raceway from coarse particles without generating any additional friction or frictional heat. The opposite open side allows for direct lubrication from inside the housing. With dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 and running accuracy to P5, this design meets defined specifications for concentricity and fit accuracy. The standard radial bearing clearance provides suitable conditions for conventional fit designs.
This bearing has an inner diameter of 15 mm, an outer diameter of 35 mm and a width of 11 mm. These dimensions allow it to be fitted directly into suitable housings and onto corresponding shaft shoulders in mechanical engineering applications.
The suffix -Z denotes a single-sided cover made of sheet steel. This split seal protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of solid particles, but does not come into contact with the inner ring. As a result, unlike sliding seals, it does not generate any additional friction, which helps to ensure operation without increased heat build-up.
The temperature range extends from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The 100Cr6 material and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. A lubricant must be selected for use that is suitable for the respective operating temperature.
The bearing has a standard radial clearance. In conventional fits on the shaft and in the housing, this radial clearance ensures smooth operation. It is suitable for applications where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
Dimensional accuracy complies with tolerance class P6, whilst running accuracy is to P5. This defines tighter tolerance limits for concentricity and dimensions. This design ensures low-vibration operation during rotary movements in machine designs.
The single-sided cover plate is designed for applications where lubricant is supplied from the open side of the housing. The covered side usually faces outwards and protects the raceway from coarse foreign particles.
