The 6214-2Z deep groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager features a 70 mm bore and cover plates on both sides for dust-protected industrial applications.
The 6214-2Z deep-groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing. With an inside diameter of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 125 mm and a width of 24 mm, this rolling bearing primarily withstands radial forces. It also handles moderate axial loads in both directions. FAG Rolling Bearings manufactures the rings and rolling elements from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6. A sturdy sheet steel cage guides the balls evenly into the deep raceways.
This rolling bearing is designed for use in rotating assemblies subject to predominantly radial loads. Thanks to the sheet metal covers on both sides, this design is suitable for environments with moderate levels of dust and dirt. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. As the outer ring has no groove or flange, the component can be fitted into cylindrical housing bores.
The suffix -2Z denotes non-contacting gap seals made of sheet steel on both sides of the bearing. These discs keep coarse particles out of the bearing interior and reduce lubricant loss. Unlike sliding seals, gap seals do not cause any additional friction. The rolling bearing therefore allows for high speeds with low heat generation. With standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0, it is suitable for standard installation situations.
With a bore of 70 mm, an external diameter of 125 mm and a width of 24 mm, this version has standardised main dimensions.
Cover plates made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on both sides, form a tight sealing gap with the inner ring. They operate without contact and protect the raceways from the ingress of solid dirt particles.
Between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius, the microstructure of the roller bearing steel and the function of the steel sheet cage remain intact during operation.
Standard radial bearing clearances are designed for standard operating conditions, where there are no unusual temperature differences between the inner and outer rings and where tried-and-tested fit combinations are used.
A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements whilst maintaining a low overall weight. The design is compatible with standard lubricants and can withstand thermal stresses within the specified temperature range.
Thanks to its deep-grooved raceways without a filling groove, the single-row bearing can accommodate not only predominantly radial forces but also moderate axial loads in both directions.
