The SKF 4207 ATN9 double-row deep-groove ball bearing, with a 35 mm bore and a polyamide cage, offers high radial load-carrying capacity for compact designs.
The SKF 4207 ATN9 deep groove ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel. Thanks to its two rows of balls, this design can withstand higher radial forces than single-row variants. With main dimensions of 35x72x23 mm, the bearing is suitable for shafts with increased load requirements in mechanical and plant engineering. As an open bearing, this design requires external lubrication and a seal on the housing side.
Design engineers primarily use this double-row bearing where high radial loads occur and the installation space is limited in terms of outer diameter. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering and in compact drive shafts. As the bearing is of open design, lubricant from an oil bath or grease circuit reaches the raceways directly. An external housing seal must be provided for environments with dust or moisture.
The suffix ATN9 denotes a polyamide cage, which ensures quiet operation and reduces the weight of the rotating components. Together with the rolling elements made of roller bearing steel, the bearing is designed for a temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees. With standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, this design meets common fit requirements in standard mechanical engineering.
This roller bearing has a bore of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 23 mm. Thanks to its standardised main dimensions, the component can be integrated precisely into suitable housing designs. Before fitting, check the shaft and housing diameters to ensure a precise fit within the unit.
Two parallel rows of balls can withstand higher radial forces than single-row variants of the same dimensions. With the same shaft diameter, the load is distributed across a larger number of rolling elements. This proves to be an advantage in designs where the installation space does not allow for bearings with a larger outer diameter.
Open roller bearings do not have factory-fitted sealing washers and are suitable for housings with their own lubrication supply, such as oil bath lubrication. Lubricants reach the raceways and balls unhindered. In dusty or damp environments, the user must ensure that housing seals protect the component from contamination and lubricant loss.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage and the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel used. When designing the system, you should ensure that the selected grease or lubricating oil is also suitable for the operating temperatures encountered.
Normal bearing clearance refers to the radial clearance between the outer ring, inner ring and balls as specified by the manufacturer when the bearing is unloaded. This standard clearance is sufficient for standard fits and balanced operating temperatures. It helps to ensure that the bearing does not become distorted when it heats up during operation.
The abbreviation ATN9 refers to a polyamide material used for the guide cage. This cage maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements and prevents them from coming into contact with one another. The low weight of the plastic reduces inertial forces during changes in speed, which promotes smooth running.
