The FAG 16030 -C3 deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 150 × 225 × 24 mm and increased bearing clearance, is an open design intended for industrial applications.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 16030 -C3 is designed as an open version without sealing washers and primarily accommodates radial loads. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6, the bearing retains its dimensional stability within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. A guided sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements spaced apart and guides the balls evenly around the raceway. The cylindrical outer ring has no flange or groove, allowing the bearing to be fitted flush into suitable housing bores.
The bearing is used on shafts with a diameter of 150 mm where radial forces need to be absorbed and axial installation space is limited. As the design does not incorporate integrated seals, the rolling bearing has low rotational resistance. This is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements connected to an external oil or grease lubrication system. The open design requires the housing to be sealed on site to protect the bearing from contamination and lubricant loss.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This increased radial clearance compensates for temperature-induced expansion of the shaft and inner ring during operation. At the same time, tight fits on the shaft reduce the radial operating clearance after installation, ensuring that the bearing does not become stressed. With tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, the component meets the standard precision requirements in mechanical engineering.
The roller bearing has a bore of 150 mm, an outer diameter of 225 mm and a width of 24 mm. These fixed dimensions determine the installation space required within the housing and the diameter of the suitable shaft seat.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional clearance counteracts stress in the rolling elements when thermal expansion occurs during operation or when tight fits on the shaft and housing reduce the clearance.
The design without sealing washers minimises friction and allows lubricant to be supplied directly via the housing environment. Open bearings are suitable for installation spaces with a separate housing seal, where oil bath or circulation lubrication is used.
Manufactured from 100Cr6 roller bearing steel with a sheet steel cage, this bearing is designed for temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees. The actual permissible operating range depends largely on the thermal suitability of the selected lubricant.
FAG fits this deep-groove ball bearing with a sheet-steel cage. This separates the individual rolling elements from one another, guides them along the raceway and is suitable for the intended mechanical and thermal operating conditions.
The model complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This standard precision meets the typical tolerance requirements in mechanical engineering and facilitates the design of suitable housing and shaft seats.
