The FAG 6214 deep-groove ball bearing accommodates both radial and axial loads and features compact standard dimensions of 70x125x24 mm.
The 6214 deep-groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing for industrial applications. It primarily absorbs radial loads and supports shafts in both axial directions. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard bearing steel 100Cr6. Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (equivalent to ABEC 1) and with standard radial clearance, the component can be integrated precisely into standardised designs.
This rolling bearing is designed for rotating shafts subjected to combined forces and with an external lubrication system. It is suitable for designs in which the bearing location is integrated into a sealed housing system. With its sheet steel cage and a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees, this model covers the typical operating temperature range for standard rolling bearings.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated sealing washers. Lubricants such as oil or grease reach the raceways unhindered, which aids heat dissipation in circulating lubrication systems. The open design requires a clean installation environment or external housing seals to prevent dirt particles and moisture from entering the bearing interior. Before installation, it must be ensured that the surrounding housing provides an effective seal.
With an internal diameter of 70 mm, an external diameter of 125 mm and a width of 24 mm, the bearing has standard dimensions. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove, which allows it to be fitted into straight housing bores.
Thanks to the open design, lubricants from the surrounding system can reach the rolling elements unhindered, for example in oil-bath or recirculating lubrication systems. As there are no sealing lips in contact with the rolling elements, frictional resistance is reduced compared with sealed designs.
With standard radial bearing clearance (CN), the bearing has a defined clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways. This clearance compensates for the typical reduction in diameter that occurs when the bearing rings are pressed into place, as well as for temperature-induced expansion during normal operation.
The component is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees. This temperature range corresponds to the thermal limits of 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage, provided that the lubricant used is also approved for this purpose.
Manufactured to tolerance class P0 or PN (comparable to ABEC 1), the roller bearing complies with standard limits for concentricity, dimensional accuracy and axial run-out. This accuracy class meets the standard fit requirements in mechanical and plant engineering.
