The FAG 16013 -C3 deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 65x100x11 mm, offers a narrow design for radial loads at elevated operating temperatures.
The 16013 -C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a cylindrical bore. This model is manufactured by FAG and is characterised by the narrow cross-section of the standardised 160 series. With an inside diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a narrow width of 11 mm, the component requires little axial installation space. The bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial forces in both directions.
Designs with limited installation space require narrow radial bearings with a high load-carrying capacity. The 16013 -C3 deep groove ball bearing is primarily used where a compact housing geometry is required and installation space is limited. Due to its open design without integrated sealing washers, this rolling bearing is suitable for enclosed systems in which a lubrication circuit ensures a continuous supply of lubricant. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The suffix C3 indicates a radial bearing clearance that is greater than the standard. This increased clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways compensates for thermal expansion at high operating temperatures during operation. Furthermore, the C3 design compensates for any reduction in bearing clearance caused by tight fits on the shaft or in the housing. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +150 degrees Celsius, with the bearings guided by a sheet steel cage.
This roller bearing has a bore of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a narrow width of 11 mm. The outer ring has no flange or ring groove, which means the bearing is designed for cylindrical housing bores.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. The additional radial clearance counteracts the straining of the rolling elements when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, or when tight bearing seat fits reduce the operating clearance.
Open roller bearings do not have their own cover plates or sealing washers at the ends. This allows external lubricating oil or grease from the surrounding unit to pass through unhindered and reduces frictional resistance compared with contact-sealed variants.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. Both the rings and the rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), combined with a dimensionally stable cage made of sheet steel that can withstand this temperature range.
FAG fits the bearing with a classic sheet-steel cage. This cage keeps the single-row balls evenly spaced, is lightweight and is resistant to standard mineral oil- or synthetic-based lubricants.
