The FAG S6002-HLC deep-groove ball bearing, made of stainless steel and measuring 15 x 32 x 9 mm, offers corrosion-resistant operation in damp environments.
The FAG S6002-HLC deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a 15 mm bore, 32 mm outer diameter and 9 mm width. Both the rings and the rolling elements are made of stainless steel. This design ensures the bearing effectively resists moisture and corrosive influences. Designed as an open bearing, the component operates with low friction and a standard radial clearance. It is suitable for applications where radial loads are predominant and lubrication is provided externally.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel primarily use the S6002-HLC deep groove ball bearing in applications where metallic components come into contact with moisture or humid ambient air. Typical areas of application are found in corrosion-prone environments within general mechanical engineering. The bearing primarily absorbs radial forces and low axial loads. As it is manufactured without an integrated seal, it can be specifically integrated into enclosed assemblies with external sealing.
The stainless steel material protects the raceways and balls from rust formation, which supports functionality in damp environments. As this is an open bearing, you can select the lubricant and relubrication intervals yourself to suit your operating conditions. Please note the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees, as well as the tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. The integrated sheet steel cage keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and ensures smooth running.
With an internal diameter of 15 mm, an external diameter of 32 mm and a width of 9 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. The outer ring has neither a flange nor a ring groove, which allows for a precise cylindrical fit. When designing the shaft and housing bore, tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 must be taken into account.
Both the inner and outer rings, as well as the balls, are made of stainless steel. This material reduces the risk of corrosion when exposed to moisture. This keeps the surface of the rolling elements smooth, which prevents damage caused by friction and extends the service life in demanding environments.
This standard radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways is present when the bearing is in its unassembled state. With standard fit selections and operating temperatures, it provides sufficient space to accommodate minor thermal expansion, ensuring that the rolling elements roll freely and the bearing does not seize.
Open roller bearings do not have integrated seals or cover plates, which results in a particularly low friction torque. This design makes it possible to metered lubricating greases or oils precisely in accordance with the specifications of the overall system. For dusty environments, the housing should be fitted with an external seal.
The bearing can be operated at temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. Both the stainless steel and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. The lubricant used must be suitable for the respective operating temperature.
Inside the bearing, the sheet steel cage separates the rolling elements and guides them evenly along the raceway. This prevents the balls from coming into direct contact with one another, thereby reducing friction and heat generation. Furthermore, sheet steel is characterised by its low weight combined with high strength.
