The FAG 6007 -Z-C3 deep-groove ball bearing combines compact dimensions of 35 × 62 × 14 mm with a single-sided sheet metal cover and increased bearing clearance.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6007 -Z-C3 primarily supports radial loads and guides shafts subjected to moderate axial forces. FAG manufactures this rolling bearing from standard bearing steel 100Cr6, fitted with a robust sheet steel cage. Thanks to its design without a flange or groove on the cylindrical outer ring, the component fits directly into standardised housing bores. The standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) defines the precise dimensional accuracy required for industrial applications.
Typical applications for the 6007 -Z-C3 deep groove ball bearing are found in designs where one side of the bearing housing must be protected from dust, whilst the other side remains open to allow the circulation of housing lubricants. This design is specifically suited to assemblies that generate higher temperatures during operation or require tight fits on the shaft and housing.
The Z variant features a single-sided, non-contacting cover plate made of sheet steel. This design keeps out coarse particles without generating any additional friction or heat. The C3 suffix indicates a slightly increased radial clearance. This increased clearance helps to compensate for thermal expansion caused by heat build-up during operation. Furthermore, the C3 bearing clearance counteracts stress in the rolling elements when the inner and outer rings are slightly expanded or compressed due to tight fits.
With an internal diameter of 35 mm, the external diameter measures 62 mm and the width is 14 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove.
The suffix ‘Z’ denotes a cover plate made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on one side. The cover provides contactless protection for the interior against particles without increasing the bearing’s friction torque.
The C3 designation indicates that the bearing has a greater radial operating clearance than the standard version. This feature is selected when there are temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, or when tight fits reduce the clearance during installation.
Both the rings and the rolling elements are made from through-hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A dimensionally stable cage made from pressed sheet steel is used to ensure the balls are guided smoothly.
With tolerance class P0 (also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1), the component meets the internationally standardised requirements for running accuracy and mating dimensions in mechanical engineering.
