The SKF 6313 -2Z/C3 deep groove ball bearing (65x140x33 mm) offers contact-free dust protection and increased bearing clearance for thermally stressed industrial applications.
The SKF 6313 -2Z/C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing is designed to accommodate predominantly radial loads as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, this bearing is characterised by its robust design. The combination of a 65 mm inner diameter and a 140 mm outer diameter, with a width of 33 mm, is suitable for medium to heavy-duty shaft mountings. A sturdy sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly into the deep raceways of the inner and outer rings.
This rolling bearing is suitable for rotating shafts in industrial applications where radial forces and elevated operating temperatures predominate. Thanks to its manufacture to standard tolerances (P0/PN or ABEC 1), it fits into standardised housing seats. The design, which features no flange or groove on the outer ring, covers a tried-and-tested temperature range from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The suffixes denote two key features of this bearing. The abbreviation 2Z stands for sheet metal cover plates fitted on both sides. These covers protect the interior of the bearing from coarse dirt particles without causing additional friction or reducing rotational speed. The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance. This compensates for thermal expansion of the shaft and housing, as well as press-fit allowances, during operation.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow the bearing to be fitted onto suitable 65 mm shafts in cylindrical housing bores without the need for additional flanges or ring grooves on the outer ring.
The designation C3 indicates a radial bearing clearance that is slightly greater than that for standard conditions. This additional internal clearance serves to counteract any distortion of the rolling elements when the shaft and bearing rings expand due to operating heat, or when tight fits cause the inner ring to expand. This helps to ensure consistent concentricity under thermal loads.
The cover plates on both sides, made of profiled sheet steel, form a non-contact gap seal. They keep foreign matter such as dirt and dust out of the bearing and minimise grease leakage. As there is no grinding contact with the inner ring, no additional frictional heat is generated, meaning the bearing remains suitable for high speeds.
The permissible operating temperature of this roller bearing ranges from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within this temperature range, the components made from standard roller bearing steel and the integrated sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability. For applications outside these limits, separate bearing designs or special material combinations should be considered.
Both the rings and the spherical rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material is characterised by high compressive strength and fatigue resistance. A cage made of pressed sheet steel is used to guide the balls.
The deep-groove ball bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or Standard (PN), which corresponds to the international ABEC 1 classification. This standard precision fully meets the requirements of general mechanical engineering and conventional industrial drives, and allows for the straightforward replacement of structurally identical ISO bearings.
