The FAG NU210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing withstands high radial loads and, as a non-locating bearing with a 50 mm bore, compensates for axial length changes.
The NU210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing from FAG designed for demanding industrial applications. With dimensions of a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 20 mm width, this design is suitable for shaft guides with predominantly radial force transmission. As the inner ring is designed to be removable from both sides, the component functions as a conventional non-locating bearing. This allows the inner and outer rings to be fitted separately, which simplifies installation and maintenance work in industrial settings.
This roller bearing is used wherever high radial forces are present and thermally induced changes in shaft length occur. As a non-locating bearing of the NU design, it accommodates radial loads exclusively and allows axial displacement between the shaft and housing without restriction. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads and general industrial drives. Thanks to its open design without a seal, the rolling bearing can be flexibly integrated into centralised oil or grease lubrication systems.
The suffixes provide important information for the technical design. The abbreviation TVP2 denotes a solid polyamide cage, which ensures quiet running and exhibits low inertial forces. The increased radial clearance (C3) provides additional leeway in the event of thermal expansion or tight fits, ensuring that the rolling elements do not become stressed even at operating temperatures of up to +120 degrees. When planning, please note that open cylindrical roller bearings require external sealing of the housing.
The internal bore is 50 mm, the external diameter is 90 mm and the overall width is 20 mm. These dimensions comply with the standardised dimensions for single-row radial cylindrical roller bearings and allow for a precise fit in manufactured bearing housings as well as on suitable cylindrical shaft seats.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. This allows the inner ring to be moved axially in both directions and removed completely. This characteristic defines the bearing as a pure non-locating bearing, which accommodates longitudinal expansion of the shaft during operation without applying axial forces.
Bearing clearance class C3 means that, in its initial state, the bearing has more radial clearance than a standard bearing. This compensates for a reduction in internal bearing clearance caused by tight fits on the shaft or temperature differences between the inner and outer rings during operation. This ensures that the bearing continues to run smoothly even under thermal stress.
The permissible operating temperature for this bearing ranges from -30 to +120 degrees. The TVP2 cage made of polyamide used here can withstand this range; however, together with the lubricant used, it limits the maximum operating temperature compared with versions featuring brass or sheet steel cages.
As this roller bearing is designed as an open bearing without integrated seals, lubrication is provided via the housing design. You can operate the bearing either with grease or via an oil circulation system. At the same time, it is necessary to protect the bearing location from ingress of dirt and moisture using external sealing elements such as shaft seals.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to class ABEC 1 in the US system. This tolerance grade meets standard precision requirements in general mechanical and plant engineering and contributes to a defined concentricity on standard shafts.
