The FAG N210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing offers a high radial load capacity with a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 20 mm width.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the N210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 from FAG, is designed as a support bearing to accommodate high radial loads. The cylindrical rollers create line contact with the raceways, resulting in high radial stiffness. The inner ring guides the set of rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the flangeless outer ring remains removable from both sides. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction and quietly.
Design engineers primarily use this cylindrical roller bearing in floating bearing arrangements to support purely radial forces. As the outer ring can be axially displaced relative to the roller set, the bearing compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft without constraint. The open design requires a clean installation environment and external lubrication via the housing. The permissible operating temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The N design features flanges on the inner ring, whereas the outer ring is smooth and has no lubrication bore. The classification in bearing clearance group C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance when new. This clearance compensates for operational heating or tight fits on the shaft and housing without causing the bearing to become stressed. With tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the component meets defined industrial standards.
The dimensions are 50 mm internal diameter, 90 mm external diameter and 20 mm width. These dimensions determine the required installation space on the shaft and within the housing bore.
In the N design, there are two fixed flanges on the inner ring which guide the cylindrical rollers laterally. The outer ring has no flanges and can be removed from either side, which means that the bearing accommodates purely radial forces and allows for axial displacement.
With a C3 rating, the bearing has greater radial clearance than the standard version. This clearance prevents the bearing from seizing up when it heats up during operation or due to tight bearing seats, and helps to ensure smooth running.
The cage, designated TVP2, is made of polyamide. This material is characterised by its low weight, damping properties and elasticity, and has a maximum operating temperature of +120 degrees Celsius.
As this bearing does not have integrated sealing washers as standard, external seals in the machine housing must prevent the ingress of dirt. Lubrication is provided via the connecting structure using a suitable lubricating oil or roller bearing grease.
