The FAG NU320 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 100 mm bore, offers high radial load-carrying capacity as a separable idler bearing for demanding industrial drives.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing NU320 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 from FAG, as a radial rolling bearing, primarily absorbs high radial forces. With key dimensions of 100 mm inner diameter, 215 mm outer diameter and 47 mm width, it complies with the standard tolerance P0/PN (ABEC 1). As it is designed as an open bearing, the bearing housing requires external sealing and suitable lubrication. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The NU design is suitable for bearing arrangements where high radial loads occur and axial length changes need to be compensated for. Two fixed flanges on the outer ring guide the rollers, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides and fitted separately. The idler bearing compensates for thermal linear expansion of the shaft without constraint within the bearing.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a solid polyamide cage, which ensures quiet running and low weight. The designation C3 also indicates an increased radial clearance compared with the standard design. This additional bearing clearance counteracts any straining of the rolling elements should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings during operation, or should tight fits reduce the radial clearance. The design is suitable for operating temperatures up to +120 degrees.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 100 mm, an outside diameter of 215 mm and a width of 47 mm. These dimensions define the installation space within the housing and on the shaft. The outer ring is designed without a lubrication bore or ring groove, which is why lubricant must be supplied from the side.
In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be withdrawn from both sides and fitted separately. In operation, the bearing functions as a conventional non-locating bearing and allows for axial shaft displacement without internal constraint forces.
The designation C3 indicates increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance serves to compensate for radial constrictions caused by tight fits on the shaft or in the housing bore. Furthermore, the operating clearance is maintained if operational heating causes the inner ring to expand during operation.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage. This plastic cage is characterised by good damping properties, low weight and high elasticity. It is suitable for use in a temperature range from -30 to a maximum of +120 degrees.
This roller bearing does not have any integrated sealing washers fitted at the factory. To prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture, as well as the leakage of lubricant, the surrounding structure must be fitted with external seals such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals. Furthermore, the open design requires regular lubrication with grease or oil.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0, which corresponds to the standard tolerance class PN or ABEC 1. The dimensional and running tolerances therefore fall within the standardised values for standard industrial applications and allow for straightforward replacement during maintenance or assembly work.
