The FAG NU312 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing, with its main dimensions of 60 × 130 × 31 mm and its robust brass cage, can withstand high radial loads.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing NU312 -E-M1 from FAG is specifically designed to accommodate high radial forces. Thanks to the line contact between the cylindrical rolling elements and the raceways, this bearing design offers a high radial load-carrying capacity. With a bore of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 31 mm, the roller bearing is of an open design. The absence of integrated seals, as well as the lack of a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring, necessitates a lubricant supply via the surrounding structure.
The NU design serves as a classic non-locating bearing in bearing arrangements where purely radial forces must be supported and axial length changes compensated for. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This design allows the inner and outer rings to shift axially relative to one another during operation. This prevents the build-up of internal axial stresses caused by thermal expansion of the shaft. The permissible temperature range extends from -30 to +150 degrees and covers a wide variety of industrial environmental conditions.
The solid brass cage, designated M1, guides the cylindrical rollers securely and withstands heavy shock loads, vibrations and rapid acceleration. A key practical advantage of this NU design is that it can be completely dismantled: The inner ring can be removed from both ends, allowing the inner and outer rings to be mounted separately onto the shaft and housing. With standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, this precision component fits into standardised seating.
With an internal diameter of 60 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 31 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. It is a single-row design and has neither a groove nor a lubrication bore in the outer ring.
The NU design specifies a thrust bearing in which the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges and the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side, enabling the bearing to compensate for axial length changes in the shaft relative to the housing.
The suffix M1 denotes a solid, roller-guided brass cage. Brass cages offer high strength and are suitable for applications involving severe vibrations or dynamic accelerations.
This component is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance (CN). This standard bearing clearance is intended for normal operating temperatures and conventional fit designs, where there are no extreme temperature differences between the shaft and the housing.
Lubrication is provided via the housing system, as this open bearing is supplied without integrated seals. It can be lubricated with either lubricating oil or grease, with external seals on the connecting structure retaining the lubricant within the bearing chamber.
The approved temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. Within these limits, the rings, cylindrical rollers and brass cage retain their dimensional stability, provided that a lubricant suitable for these operating temperatures is used.
