The FAG NU307 -E-XL-TVP2 single-row cylindrical roller bearing withstands high radial loads and has dimensions of 35 × 80 × 21 mm.
The NU307 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing functions as a separable radial roller bearing for machine designs subject to high radial forces. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and the raceway, this FAG design can withstand high radial loads whilst maintaining high rigidity. The open bearing has tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) and a standard radial clearance. Thanks to the inner ring being removable from both sides, the shaft and housing can be fitted separately, which simplifies installation and maintenance procedures.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements that require purely radial load support and must compensate for thermally induced changes in shaft length. Typical applications include industrial gearboxes and shaft mountings where a precise floating bearing function is required.
As the inner ring has no flanges, the bearing allows for axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing within the bearing. Designs benefit from this feature when stresses caused by thermal expansion need to be avoided and standardised dimensional accuracy is required.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly and is characterised by its low weight. The material is designed for a temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees. As this is an open bearing without seals, lubrication is provided via the housing design.
The NU design specifies a purely radial bearing: two fixed flanges on the outer ring guide the roller set, whilst the smooth inner ring remains removable from both sides. This bearing does not accommodate axial forces. Before installation, the shaft diameter of 35 mm and the housing fit for the 80-mm outer ring must be taken into account.
With an internal diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 80 mm and a width of 21 mm, the bearing complies with standardised key dimensions. These dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely onto suitable shaft seats and into matching housing bores.
As a free-running bearing, the NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. The inner ring can be removed from either side. This enables the bearing to compensate for axial changes in the length of the shaft within the bearing without absorbing any axial forces.
Made from polyamide, the cage guides the cylindrical rollers quietly and is lightweight. The material is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. This type of cage is suitable for applications where the rolling elements require smooth guidance.
As an open roller bearing, this design has no integrated seals, cover plates or mechanical seals, and has no lubrication bore in the outer ring. Protection against contamination and the supply of lubricant must be provided by the surrounding structure.
Fitted with standard radial bearing clearance and manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, the bearing offers standard precision for industrial applications. It therefore reliably meets the usual requirements for dimensional and concentricity tolerances in mechanical engineering.
No, as a plain bearing, the NU design cannot transmit axial forces. As the inner ring has no guide flanges, the roller bearing supports radial loads only. A separate fixed bearing must be provided in the design to guide the shaft axially.
