The FAG NU2324 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing, with its main dimensions of 120 × 260 × 86 mm, accommodates high radial loads as a separable single-row bearing.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NU2324 -E-M1 from FAG is designed to support shafts under purely radial loads. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, this design can withstand high transverse forces. The solid brass cage ensures the rolling elements remain dimensionally stable even under vibrational or accelerative forces. Manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, this design is suitable for both stationary and rotating machine components in industrial applications.
This roller bearing is primarily used where high radial loads need to be supported and operational changes in shaft length need to be compensated for. Such requirements arise in shaft mountings subject to thermal linear expansion. As the inner ring has no flanges, the shaft can move freely axially in both directions within the bearing. This design prevents mechanical stress between the shaft and the housing.
The NU design is characterised by an inner ring that can be removed from both sides. This ability to dismantle the bearing facilitates installation, as the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing. The integrated brass cage withstands mechanical loads and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. The bearing is designed as an open variant without an integrated seal, whilst the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore.
This cylindrical roller bearing has a bore of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 260 mm and a width across flats of 86 mm. The inner ring can be removed from both ends, which means that the outer and inner rings can be handled separately during assembly.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. As a result, the component functions purely as a non-locating bearing, internally compensates for axial changes in the shaft’s length and can be completely dismantled for installation.
The solid brass cage, identified by the suffix M1, maintains the cylinder rollers at a constant distance. It offers high dimensional stability under vibration and shock loads and guides the rolling elements safely along the raceway.
The bearing has a standard radial clearance and complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. It is therefore suitable for standard fit combinations in industrial mechanical engineering.
The permissible operating range extends from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. The components made of roller bearing steel and the brass cage are designed to ensure that the rolling elements are guided with dimensional accuracy within this temperature range.
As this product is designed without integrated sealing washers and the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing. Depending on the design, the bearing can be operated using a suitable lubricating oil or grease.
