The single-row FAG cylindrical roller bearing NU2309 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 with a 45 mm bore acts as a separable support bearing for high radial loads in mechanical engineering.
The FAG NU2309 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is designed for demanding industrial applications where high radial forces act on the bearing. Thanks to the line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways, the design offers a high radial load-carrying capacity. The integrated polyamide cage ensures smooth guidance of the rolling elements, reduces the weight compared to solid metal cages and promotes smooth running during continuous operation.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used as a non-locating bearing in designs subject to purely radial loads. As the outer ring is fitted with two fixed flanges and the inner ring is flangeless, the design compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly within the rolling element set. This axial displacement helps to prevent thermal stresses in the bearing seat. As an open rolling bearing without seals, the bearing assembly can be flexibly lubricated with grease or oil.
The design with a slightly increased radial clearance (C3) offers additional compensation for temperature differences between the bearing rings as well as for tight fits. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees. A further advantage is the inner ring, which can be removed from both sides: both rings can be fitted separately. The component complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and has an outer ring without a lubrication groove or lubrication bore.
The bearing has a bore of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 36 mm. It is a single-row cylindrical roller bearing which, thanks to its compact design, can withstand high radial loads.
The suffix TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its elastic properties, low friction and low weight, which have a positive effect on the guidance of the rolling elements at varying speeds.
Bearing clearance class C3 denotes a slightly increased radial bearing clearance. It is selected when tight fits or operational heating lead to a reduction in radial clearance, so that the rollers can roll freely during operation.
In the NU design, the bearing does not absorb any axial forces. The outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. As a result, the component acts purely as a non-locating bearing and allows for axial compensation of the shaft within the rolling element set.
As this is an open bearing with no seal and no lubricant fill, the lubricant is supplied via the housing. Depending on the operating conditions, either grease or lubricating oil may be used, provided that the temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees is maintained.
This cylindrical roller bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN, which is also referred to as ABEC 1 in international contexts. This standard tolerance meets the standard requirements for dimensional accuracy and running precision in general mechanical engineering.
