Cylindrical Roller Bearings FAG NU2219 -E-XL-TVP2-C3

The FAG NU2219 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with dimensions of 95 × 170 × 43 mm, is designed to accommodate very high radial loads as a separable idler bearing.

The NU2219 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial rolling bearing for industrial applications subject to heavy radial loads. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, this design offers high radial load-carrying capacity and rigidity. FAG manufactures this model in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) as an open bearing without an integrated seal, allowing the choice of lubricant to be flexibly adapted to the specific design.

What is the NU2219 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing suitable for?

It is primarily used in bearing arrangements where high radial forces must be accommodated. The NU design functions as a non-locating bearing. As the inner ring has no flanges and can be removed from both sides, the bearing compensates for axial length changes in the shaft caused by thermal expansion without any internal constraint. Furthermore, the fact that it can be dismantled allows the inner and outer rings to be fitted separately.

What do ‘C3’ bearing clearance and a polyamide cage mean in this design?

The suffixes define specific characteristics for demanding operating conditions. The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial clearance. This additional radial clearance prevents the rolling elements from jamming if heating or tight fits reduce the operating clearance during operation. The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide. It guides the rollers quietly, reduces inertial forces and is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.

What are the dimensions of the NU2219 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing?

With an internal diameter of 95 mm, an external diameter of 170 mm and a width of 43 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised key dimensions for a precise fit in housings and on shafts.

What is the function of the NU design as a non-locating bearing?

In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be displaced axially relative to the set of rollers. This design does not absorb any axial forces, but does compensate for thermal linear expansion of the shaft during operation.

Why is the C3 clearance suitable for this cylindrical roller bearing?

The C3 bearing clearance group offers greater radial clearance than the standard version. It is recommended where temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, or tight fits, cause the bearing clearance to decrease. The increased clearance helps to prevent the bearing from becoming stressed during operation.

What are the characteristics of the TVP2 polyamide cage?

The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide and is roller-guided. Compared with metal cages, it is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. The permissible operating temperature range for this cage design is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius.

How is the NU2219 open cylindrical roller bearing lubricated?

As this bearing is of an open design and has no integrated seal, the bearing housing requires external sealing. Depending on the application, lubrication is provided flexibly using either grease or lubricating oil, which is supplied directly via the housing design.

What is the bearing’s tolerance class?

The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This standard tolerance meets the usual accuracy requirements for radial roller bearings in mechanical engineering.
