The FAG NU2210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 50x90x23 mm, provides a high-load-capacity free-running bearing for high radial forces.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NU2210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 accommodates high radial loads thanks to the line contact of its rollers. The manufacturer, FAG, produces this version with a flangeless, removable inner ring. This allows the component to compensate for axial changes in shaft length directly between the rollers and the raceway with minimal friction. Designed as an open rolling bearing, it can be flexibly lubricated with oil or grease. Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, it meets standard requirements for dimensional accuracy in mechanical engineering.
This cylindrical roller bearing is used in bearing locations where purely radial forces occur and no axial forces need to be supported. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore, so lubricant is supplied from the end face. The lightweight polyamide cage ensures smooth roller guidance and reduces the moving masses in the rolling element set during changes in rotational speed.
The NU non-locating bearing design allows the inner ring and outer ring to be fitted separately, as the inner ring can be withdrawn from either side. This simplifies assembly procedures on shaft ends that are difficult to access. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) provides additional leeway to counteract stress if tight fits are selected or if temperature differences arise between the shaft and the housing. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
With a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions. These dimensions allow it to be fitted onto 50 mm shafts in housings with a mounting bore of 90 mm.
A characteristic feature of the NU design is the presence of two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be moved axially in either direction or removed, enabling the bearing to function purely as a non-locating bearing without supporting any axial loads.
The abbreviation C3 denotes a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with standard clearance. This increased internal clearance prevents stress build-up when fits are tight or when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation.
The abbreviation TVP2 refers to a polyamide window cage. This material is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. It ensures quiet roller operation and is designed to withstand the bearing’s temperature range up to 120 degrees Celsius.
As the roller bearing is of an open design and has no integrated seals, it is sealed by the housing design. Depending on the requirements of the bearing location, lubrication can be carried out using grease or via an existing oil circuit.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The upper temperature limit is largely determined by the thermal resistance of the polyamide cage, whilst the bearing material remains functional at low temperatures down to -30 degrees.
