The SKF NU2210 ECP single-row cylindrical roller bearing (50x90x23 mm) is designed as a non-locating bearing for high radial loads with normal bearing clearance.
As a single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the SKF NU2210 ECP absorbs high radial forces and compensates for axial length changes in the shaft. With a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm, this unit belongs to the SKF Explorer performance class with an optimised internal design. As an open rolling bearing without an integrated seal, this design is intended for use in oil- or grease-lubricated systems. The polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
This bearing is primarily used as a non-locating bearing when axial displacement between the shaft and housing must be accommodated freely within the bearing. Typical applications include shaft mountings where high radial forces are present and thermal linear expansion occurs. As the outer ring has fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is removable on both sides, the design separates radial guidance functions from axial forces. You can integrate the unit into existing lubrication circuits, as the open housing directs the lubricant flow directly to the rolling elements.
The combination of the polyamide cage and the NU design simplifies both the design and the installation. The inner ring can be mounted separately onto the shaft, which simplifies installation in hard-to-access housings. At the same time, the polyamide cage reduces the weight of the rolling element bearing and dampens vibrations during operation. When designing the system, please take into account the running accuracy of Class P6 and the standard radial clearance. For applications with temperatures between –30 and +120 degrees, this bearing provides a dimensionally stable foundation.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm, the unit complies with the standardised size series for single-row cylindrical roller bearings. Thanks to its compact design, the bearing is suitable for applications where high radial forces must be accommodated within a confined space.
Designed as a free-running bearing, the NU series features an outer ring with two fixed guide flanges and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides and fitted separately. During operation, the bearing compensates for axial changes in the length of the shaft relative to the housing with low friction, directly between the rollers and the inner ring.
A polyamide cage guides the lightweight cylindrical rollers and maintains a precise spacing between them. This material operates with low vibration, dampens operating noise and is designed to withstand acceleration forces within the bearing. When using the bearing, the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees must be taken into account, within which the material retains its strength.
For this bearing, the dimensional accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance or ABEC 1), whilst the running accuracy meets the more stringent class P6 (ABEC 3). This combination ensures precise concentricity whilst maintaining standardised mounting dimensions on the shaft and housing fit.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated sealing washers, which means that lubricating oils or greases can flow unhindered from the machine housing to the rollers and raceways. The user must ensure the bearing housing is sealed via the housing design to prevent the ingress of dirt particles and the escape of lubricant.
With Explorer, SKF denotes an optimised internal design and improved surface finish of the rolling elements and raceways. This promotes the formation of the lubricating film and reduces stress peaks at the ends of the rollers. This results in high load-carrying capacity whilst simultaneously reducing friction during operation.
