The FAG NU2209 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing offers high radial load-carrying capacity with dimensions of 45x85x23 mm and, as a floating bearing, compensates for axial length changes.
The FAG NU2209 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing for industrial applications involving high radial loads. In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides, which facilitates the separate installation of both bearing rings. Designed as an open bearing, this component requires an external lubricant supply and a housing seal.
This radial roller bearing is primarily used in idler bearing positions where thermal linear expansion of the shaft must be compensated for without constraint. Due to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can withstand high radial forces. Typical applications are found in general industrial and mechanical engineering where a load-bearing guide in the radial direction is required whilst allowing for axial displacement.
The TVP2 design features a solid polyamide cage, which ensures smooth running and reduces the weight of the bearing assembly. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) provides additional leeway in the event of heating during operation or where there are tight fits between the shaft and housing. In combination with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees, the rolling bearing retains its dimensional stability even under fluctuating thermal conditions.
The NU design features two fixed guide flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side, which simplifies installation and removal. At the same time, this design enables axial displacement compensation directly within the rolling element set.
With a bore of 45 mm, an external diameter of 85 mm and a width of 23 mm, the component is precisely defined. These standardised dimensions allow it to be integrated into corresponding bearing seats in mechanical engineering.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This additional operating clearance helps to prevent the bearing from becoming stressed should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings, or should tight fit allowances be selected.
A TVP2 cage is made from polyamide. This material is characterised by good damping properties and low inertia, which contributes to the smooth running of the cylindrical roller bearing and ensures precise guidance of the rollers.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The thermal operating limit is largely determined by the polyamide cage fitted and the lubricant selected by the customer for the respective bearing location.
As this model is designed without integrated sealing washers, lubrication must be provided via the surrounding structure. The open bearing allows for the use of either lubricating oil or grease, but requires the housing to be sealed against dirt and moisture.
