The NU2209 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG, with dimensions of 45x85x23 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity as a separable idler bearing for mechanical engineering.
The NU2209 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager with a cylindrical bore. Due to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, this design can withstand high radial loads. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, the bearing housing requires external sealing as well as an appropriate supply of grease or lubricating oil.
This roller bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements where high radial forces are present and the shaft is to be guided so that it can move axially. In such designs, the NU series functions purely as a non-locating bearing. As the inner ring has no flanges, the bearing compensates for operational length changes in the shaft without constraint, directly between the rollers and the inner raceway.
The suffix TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage, which precisely spaces and guides the cylindrical rollers. The material dampens vibrations, reduces the weight of the moving components and promotes quiet operation. The bearing is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The inner ring, which can be removed from both ends, also simplifies installation, as the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 85 mm and a total width of 23 mm. These dimensions comply with the standardised metric size series for single-row cylindrical roller bearings.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges to guide the rollers, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. The inner ring can be withdrawn from either side, allowing the bearing to act purely as a support bearing and compensate for thermal linear expansion of the shaft.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance (CN). This standard operating clearance is designed for standard fit conditions on the shaft and housing, provided there are no exceptional temperature differences between the rings.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the TVP2 polyamide cage used in the design and the dimensional stability of the hardened steel rings.
The open bearing has no integrated seals and is lubricated with grease or oil via the housing design. As the outer ring has no lubrication groove, the lubricant is fed directly from the end face into the bearing cavity.
The roller bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 (also referred to as PN or ABEC 1). This manufacturing precision covers all common industrial applications in general mechanical engineering and plant construction.
