The SKF NU219 ECP/C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing, with a 95 mm bore and C3 clearance, offers high radial load-carrying capacity for industrial bearing arrangements.
The SKF NU219 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing, as a single-row roller bearing, accommodates high radial loads. In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the flangeless inner ring remains removable from both sides. This design compensates for axial length changes in the shaft within the bearing with low friction. Thanks to the optimised internal design and the lightweight polyamide cage, the bearing operates with low vibration even at higher speeds.
This non-locating bearing is used at bearing locations to support purely radial loads and to compensate for thermal linear expansion of the shaft. As the rings can be separated, the bearing is straightforward to install. Since the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore, grease or lubricating oil is supplied directly via the surrounding bearing space in the housing.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This increased radial clearance helps to ensure that the rollers do not become distorted when heated during operation or due to tight fits on the shaft and housing. For users, this means greater reliability in applications where the temperature difference between the inner and outer rings falls within the permissible range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The NU design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and a smooth, flangeless inner ring. As a result, the rolling bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing. It absorbs radial loads and allows axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing in both directions, thereby compensating for thermal length changes without inducing stress.
Bearing clearance class C3 is characterised by greater radial clearance than in the standard version. This helps to prevent the rollers from seizing if tight fits cause the bearing rings to expand or if elevated temperatures occur during operation. This design is suitable for installation situations where there are thermal differences between the shaft and the housing.
The polyamide cage, designated by the abbreviation ECP, reduces the weight of the rolling element set and provides flexible guidance for the cylindrical rollers. The material is characterised by good damping properties and quiet running. The permissible temperature range for this bearing is between -30 and +120 degrees.
With an internal diameter of 95 mm, an external diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions for single-row cylindrical roller bearings of this size. These dimensions enable a precise fit when installed in standardised housings.
The dimensional accuracy complies with class P0 or standard tolerance (corresponding to ABEC 1). In terms of running accuracy, the component meets the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3, which contributes to precise shaft guidance.
As the cylindrical roller bearing is designed without integrated sealing washers, protection against contaminants and moisture is provided by the surrounding housing structure. External shaft seals or labyrinth seals help to ensure that the lubricant remains within the bearing and that no foreign particles can penetrate it.
