The NU202 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing (15x35x11 mm) serves as a radially load-bearing idler bearing with an inner ring that can be removed from both sides, designed for precise shaft guidance.
The NU202 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is a single-row radial bearing designed for compact installations. The combination of a 15 mm bore, 35 mm outer diameter and 11 mm width is suitable for designs subject to high radial forces. Designed as an open bearing, the component can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems. Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, it ensures smooth running within the specified temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees.
This roller bearing typically acts as a floating bearing in machines and shaft guides with a separate fixed bearing. In such designs, the bearing freely compensates for axial changes in shaft length caused by thermal expansion within the bearing itself. As the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless, the rollers can move freely axially along the inner raceway. This feature helps to specifically prevent undesirable axial stresses in the drive train.
The design with a polyamide cage ensures smooth guidance of the cylindrical rolling elements whilst maintaining a low mass. At the same time, the inner ring, which can be removed from both sides, significantly simplifies assembly and disassembly. The inner and outer rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing. Before commissioning, the open bearing requires a suitable supply of grease or oil. The standard radial bearing clearance provides the necessary operating clearance for standard fits in mechanical engineering.
With an internal diameter of 15 mm, an external diameter of 35 mm and a width of 11 mm, this single-row bearing is compact in design. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the cylindrical component fits precisely into housing bores and onto corresponding shaft seats for industrial applications.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side. During operation, this design compensates for axial displacement between the shaft and the housing with minimal friction, without generating any additional axial forces.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. One of the limiting factors here is the polyamide cage fitted, the material properties of which are designed for this temperature range. To ensure reliable operation, the lubricant selected must also be suitable for this range.
As the bearing is not fitted with any seals as standard, it requires external lubrication with grease or lubricating oil prior to commissioning. The lubricant protects the rolling elements from friction and wear. Ensure the installation environment is clean to prevent foreign particles from entering the open bearing housing.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. This clearance compensates for the slight contraction of the rings after they have been pressed onto the shaft or into the housing, and ensures smooth running under normal operating conditions.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This standard tolerance meets the usual accuracy requirements in general mechanical engineering. It ensures dimensionally accurate fits for the inner and outer rings and enables dimensionally accurate replacement during repairs and maintenance.
