The FAG NUP309 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing supports shafts with a 45 mm bore as a fixed bearing in both axial directions.
The NUP309 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings which withstands high radial forces whilst also providing axial guidance. With a bore of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm, the component complies with standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1. Due to its NUP design, this open bearing serves as a fixed bearing in bearing arrangements subject to combined loads.
This fixed bearing design is suitable for applications where a shaft is to be axially fixed on both sides relative to the housing, whilst simultaneously withstanding heavy radial loads. The design combines two fixed flanges on the outer ring with a fixed inner ring flange and a loose flange disc. This enables the bearing to accommodate axial forces in both directions. Typical applications include shaft mountings with axial guidance on both sides under grease or oil lubrication.
The solid brass cage (-M1) guides the cylindrical rollers precisely and offers high strength against vibrations or shock loads. The open bearing has no integrated seals, allowing lubricants to circulate freely. The operating temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius with normal radial clearance. An external seal on the bearing housing protects the raceways from dirt and moisture.
The designation NUP denotes a fixed bearing. The outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and a loose thrust washer. This design enables the bearing to accommodate not only very high radial forces but also axial forces in both directions alternately.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 45 mm, an outside diameter of 100 mm and a width across flats of 25 mm. The dimensions comply with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and provide the fit accuracy required by standards for both repairs and new designs in industrial mechanical engineering.
The suffix M1 denotes a solid brass cage. Brass is characterised by high mechanical stability and strength. Such a cage withstands impact loads and vibrations, and guides the rolling elements precisely under demanding operating conditions.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. As this is an open bearing without elastic sealing lips, the thermal operating limits are essentially determined by the dimensional stability of the steel, the brass cage and the lubricant selected.
The open bearing has no factory-fitted sealing washers and is lubricated via the housing environment. Depending on the speed and operating conditions, either circulating oil lubrication or a suitable grease application is recommended. The housing seals must prevent lubricant loss and protect the rolling bearing from dust.
This model features the standard radial bearing clearance (CN). This standard bearing clearance is designed for typical fits on the shaft and housing, as well as normal operating temperatures. It serves to provide the correct operating clearance once the rings have been fitted by thermal or mechanical pressing.
