The SKF NUP305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row fixed bearing measuring 25x62x17 mm, offers a high radial load capacity.
The NUP305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing combines compact dimensions with high load-carrying capacity for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, this bearing can accommodate high radial forces. Designed as an open rolling bearing, it can be lubricated via the machine housing. The SKF Explorer version also features an optimised internal design, which is engineered to ensure even load distribution during operation.
Design engineers primarily use this bearing arrangement where high radial forces occur and axial fixation of the shaft is required at the same time. The NUP design has two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flange disc. This enables the bearing to accommodate axial forces from both directions and act as a fixed bearing. Typical applications include bearing arrangements with high radial loads and axial shaft guidance on both sides.
The integrated polyamide cage (suffix ECP) is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. It guides the rollers and is designed for an operating temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Dimensional accuracy complies with tolerance class Normal (P0/ABEC 1), whilst running accuracy is manufactured to class P6 (ABEC 3). During assembly, clean mating surfaces and suitable housing seals must be provided, as the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore.
The designation ‘ECP’ indicates an optimised internal design and a polyamide cage. This version is characterised by a low cage weight and favourable running characteristics. The polyamide cage is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This bearing has an inside diameter of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 17 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, it can be fitted with dimensional accuracy into corresponding housing bores and onto suitable shaft seats.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to lock a shaft in both axial directions and act as a fixed bearing, whereas designs such as NU or N are purely floating bearings.
The bearing has the standard radial clearance (CN). This standard value is suitable for typical operating temperatures and conventional fit designs on the shaft and housing, where no increased bearing clearance is required.
As this cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured without integrated grinding or cover discs, the bearing housing must be sealed by the surrounding housing structure. An external seal protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of dirt particles and retains the lubricant within the bearing housing.
The bearing is manufactured to a dimensional accuracy of tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance or ABEC 1) and an increased running accuracy of tolerance class P6 (ABEC 3). This combination ensures smooth, low-vibration operation with standard fit dimensions.
