The NUP210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 50x90x20 mm, serves as a robust fixed bearing for high radial loads at operating temperatures of up to 120 degrees.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the NUP210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 from FAG, acts as a fixed bearing to absorb radial forces as well as axial guidance forces from both directions. The open design, without an integrated seal, allows for direct lubrication within the unit. Thanks to the solid line contact between the rollers and raceways, this roller bearing can withstand high loads. Design engineers and maintenance technicians specifically use this version, with a 50 mm bore, 90 mm outer diameter and 20 mm width, in compact installation spaces.
The bearing typically functions as an axial and radial shaft guide in industrial bearing arrangements subject to combined loads. The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This allows the component to secure the shaft axially on both sides. In the event of vibrations or impact loads, the line contact of the cylindrical rollers ensures dimensionally stable guidance of the shaft within the housing.
The version with the suffix TVP2 features a lightweight polyamide cage, which reduces friction and promotes smooth running. Together with the increased radial bearing clearance (C3), the bearing compensates for operational heating. If a temperature gradient develops between the shaft and the housing during operation, the increased radial clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed. Within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees, this interaction ensures a high level of operational reliability.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. With tolerances to Class P0 or ABEC 1, the component fits into standardised housing bores and onto corresponding shaft seats in industrial mechanical engineering.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring. The inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. Thanks to this configuration, the single-row bearing transmits axial forces in both directions and, in the mechanical assembly, performs the function of a conventional fixed bearing.
The designation C3 indicates a radial bearing clearance that is slightly greater than that of standard bearings. This additional clearance between the rollers and raceways is required when tight fits or temperature differences between the inner and outer rings lead to a radial reduction in bearing clearance during operation.
The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide and guides the low-mass rollers. This material absorbs shocks, operates quietly and reduces inertial forces. The cage limits the permissible temperature range of the bearing to a maximum of 120 degrees Celsius.
As the cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured without its own sealing washers, protection against dirt and moisture must be provided by the surrounding housing structure. Shaft seals, labyrinth seals or housing covers protect the interior and retain the lubricant on the rolling elements.
The specified operating range extends from -30 degrees to +120 degrees Celsius. Both the material of the rings and rollers and the polyamide cage are designed for this temperature range, provided that the grease or lubricating oil used also meets these thermal limits.
