The FAG NUP205 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row fixed bearing measuring 25 × 52 × 15 mm, accommodates high radial forces as well as axial loads on both sides.
This single-row radial roller bearing from FAG combines compact dimensions with high radial load-carrying capacity. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, the design can withstand high transverse forces. As a fixed bearing of the NUP design, the bearing guides the shaft in both axial directions. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. The component is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This cylindrical roller bearing is used when a bearing must primarily support high radial loads whilst simultaneously fixing the shaft axially. Typical applications include industrial drives and general mechanical engineering. The NUP design provides guidance under varying axial forces without the need for additional thrust washers. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, lubrication is provided via an external lubrication system using oil or grease.
The polyamide cage (TVP2) guides the rolling elements quietly and is characterised by its low weight, which reduces inertial forces during operation. In combination with the increased radial bearing clearance (C3), the bearing compensates for operational heating. The increased bearing clearance helps to prevent stress caused by thermal expansion of the shaft or housing. The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
The designation NUP indicates that the component is a fixed bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges. The inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc, which enables the bearing to guide the shaft in both axial directions and to absorb axial forces.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 25 mm, an outer diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm. The outer ring is designed without a lubrication groove or lubrication bore.
C3 denotes a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard clearance. This clearance serves to compensate for operational temperature differences between the inner and outer rings and to reduce the risk of roller distortion under thermal loads.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage. This material ensures quiet rolling motion and has a low weight, which reduces the inertial forces that arise during operation.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage fitted and the thermal dimensional stability of the components.
As this is an open design without integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing must be sealed externally. Depending on the application, lubrication is provided via the housing, either with grease or oil.
