The FAG cylindrical roller bearing NJ326 -E-XL-M1-C3 (130 × 280 × 58 mm) serves as a single-row support bearing for heavy radial loads and unilateral axial forces.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing NJ326 -E-XL-M1-C3 from FAG absorbs high radial forces within the system via its cylindrical rollers. Thanks to its open design, lubricant can reach the rolling elements and raceways of the bearing unhindered. The brass cage guides the rollers precisely and is suitable for demanding operating conditions. Thanks to its manufacture to standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, the roller bearing fits into standardised housing and shaft seats in industrial mechanical engineering.
As a support bearing of the NJ design, this bearing guides the shaft axially in one direction and allows axial displacement in the opposite direction. The inner ring is removable from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings during installation. Designs with fixed support points utilise this bearing principle in shaft mountings when, in addition to dominant radial forces, unilateral guiding forces also need to be accommodated.
The version with the suffix C3 features a slightly increased radial clearance. This additional operating clearance compensates for thermal expansion at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees or for tight fit oversizes, without the rolling bearing seizing up during operation. The brass cage retains its dimensional stability even at varying speeds. As the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied by design via the clearances at the ends of the bearing assembly.
The bore diameter is 130 mm, the external diameter measures 280 mm and the width is 58 mm. These standardised dimensions determine the required installation space on the shaft and in the housing seat.
When used as a thrust bearing, the NJ design allows for axial displacement and supports axial forces from one direction. As the inner ring can be removed from one side, the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately.
C3 denotes a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. The increased clearance between the rollers and raceways compensates for thermal expansion or constriction caused by tight fits and prevents the bearing from seizing.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +150 degrees. Within this temperature range, the rings and brass cage retain their shape, provided that the lubricant used is suitable for these thermal conditions.
The open design without integrated seals allows for direct lubrication via the machine’s lubrication circuit. This is suitable for designs with external seals, where grease or lubricating oil can circulate freely.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the international ABEC 1 classification. This standard tolerance meets the standard requirements in general mechanical and plant engineering.
The cage is made of solid brass (designation M1). This design offers high dimensional stability under dynamic loads and reliably guides the cylindrical rollers under demanding operating conditions.
