The FAG NJ315 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 75 mm bore and an outer diameter of 160 mm, provides stable radial support with single-sided axial guidance.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the NJ315 -E-XL-TVP2, primarily absorbs high radial forces and guides the shaft in the axial direction. Designed as an open bearing, it requires external lubrication and a seal on the housing side. FAG equips this version with a lightweight polyamide cage and standard radial clearance. The standardised tolerance class P0/PN allows for direct use in industrial bearing installations with standard dimensional accuracy requirements.
Typical applications include industrial shaft mountings subject to high radial loads and single-sided guiding forces. Structurally, the NJ design serves as a support bearing: it absorbs radial forces whilst simultaneously limiting the axial displacement of the shaft in one direction. When combined with a suitable mating bearing, this creates an axially guided bearing arrangement. The permissible temperature range extends from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius, making the bearing suitable for the corresponding thermal conditions.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed from one side, enabling the inner and outer rings to be fitted separately onto the shaft and into the housing. The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rolling elements with low noise levels. Thanks to the low mass of the material, inertial forces remain low, which contributes to smooth running even at varying speeds.
With an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, the bearing is suitable for standardised housings and shaft seats. The precise dimensions allow for a perfect fit when replacing bearings in corresponding designs.
The NJ design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This arrangement allows axial forces to be absorbed in one direction, whilst allowing displacement in the opposite direction. The inner ring can be pulled off to one side, which makes installation and removal easier.
Made from polyamide, the cage keeps the rollers at a uniform distance apart and reduces the total weight of the rotating components. The material absorbs shocks and vibrations and ensures smooth operation within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This design is suitable for standard fits between the shaft and housing, as well as for operating conditions where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner ring and the outer ring.
As an open roller bearing without integrated seals, the bearing requires a supply of lubricant – in the form of grease or oil – via the surrounding housing structure. In addition, external housing seals protect against the ingress of dust, dirt and moisture.
