The FAG NJ314 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 70x150x35 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and axial guidance in one direction.
The FAG NJ314 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width of 35 mm, this design can withstand high radial loads. Designed as an open bearing, the component can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication circuits. The tolerance class P0/PN indicates that the raceways are manufactured for continuous operation.
Design engineers primarily use this design where strong radial forces are present and the shaft is to be fixed axially at one end. Designed as a support bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring, the bearing accommodates axial forces from one direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement. The inner ring is removable from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the shaft and housing.
The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low mass, which reduces friction during operation and promotes quiet running. Together with the increased radial clearance (C3), the component is suitable for operating conditions involving thermal expansion or tight fits. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. When designing the bearing mounting, it should be noted that the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 70 mm, an outer diameter of 150 mm and a width of 35 mm. These standardised dimensions facilitate targeted replacement in existing machine designs. The component is designed as a single-row cylindrical roller bearing without integrated electrical insulation.
The designation ‘NJ’ defines the arrangement of the flanges on the bearing rings. The outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has a single-sided flange. As a result, the bearing functions as a support bearing that absorbs radial loads and supports axial forces in one direction, whilst allowing displacement in the opposite direction.
Bearing clearance class C3 means that, in its initial state, the bearing has greater radial clearance than the standard version. This additional clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed when the shaft and rings heat up during operation or when tight fits reduce the radial clearance after press-fitting.
This version features a polyamide cage, identifiable by the code TVP2. This material is characterised by its low weight and elastic properties. The polyamide cage guides the rollers smoothly and is suitable for use within the specified temperature range of between -30 and +120 degrees.
As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, lubrication is provided by the surrounding system using oil or grease. As the outer ring has no lubrication groove or bore, the lubricant must be fed from the side to the raceway and the rollers.
The bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN, which is also known internationally as ABEC 1. This class defines precise limit values for dimensional accuracy, concentricity and axial run-out, ensuring that the bearing meets the standard requirements in general mechanical and plant engineering.
