The FAG NJ306 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing (30x72x19 mm) can accommodate high radial loads and, thanks to its flanged inner ring, functions as a support bearing.
The FAG NJ306 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing for industrial applications involving high radial forces. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can handle high load capacities. Designed as an open bearing, the unit integrates into existing lubrication circuits. The manufacturer produces this model to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
The NJ design is used where high radial loads act on the shaft and axial guidance is also required. Due to its design, the outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring has one solid flange. This allows the bearing to support the shaft in an axial direction. At the same time, the design allows for axial displacement in the opposite direction, which compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft during operation.
The M1 version features a brass cage that guides the rollers and withstands mechanical stresses and vibrations. Together with the increased radial clearance (C3), the bearing is suitable for applications involving higher operating temperatures or tight fits. The additional radial clearance prevents the bearing from becoming stressed when it heats up or when the rings are pressed on. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
The bearing has a cylindrical bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 72 mm and a width of 19 mm. With these standardised key dimensions, the single-row roller bearing fits into standard housings and onto corresponding shaft seats in industrial mechanical engineering.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the component to withstand not only high radial forces but also axial loads from one direction. The inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of both rings.
The designation C3 indicates a larger radial bearing clearance than in the standard version. This increased clearance between the rollers and raceways compensates for dimensional changes when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings, or when tight fits on the shaft and housing reduce the bearing clearance.
The M1 brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers with precision and is characterised by high dimensional stability. Brass is suitable for operating conditions involving severe vibration and fluctuating speeds, and contributes to the thermal stability of the bearing assembly.
The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. As this is an open bearing without integrated sliding seals, the lubricant and external protective measures in the surrounding structure determine the actual thermal operating limit on site.
As this cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured without seals, it requires a supply of oil or grease from the adjacent structure. The outer ring has no lubrication groove or bore, which is why the lubricant must be supplied via the bearing housing or from the side.
