The SKF NJ2320 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row support bearing measuring 100x215x73 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity in a compact design.
The SKF NJ2320 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing with an optimised internal design in the Explorer version. With a bore of 100 mm, an outside diameter of 215 mm and a width of 73 mm, this bearing can withstand very high radial forces. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be integrated directly into existing lubrication systems and operates within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
This version is used in bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces and single-sided axial guidance. As this is the NJ design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges and the inner ring has one fixed flange. Consequently, the bearing arrangement functions as a support bearing: it absorbs radial loads and guides shafts axially in one direction. The design compensates for axial thermal expansion in the opposite direction via the axial displacement travel.
The inner ring is removable on one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the cylindrical rollers securely and is suitable for demanding operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. Furthermore, this design combines dimensional accuracy of class P0/PN (ABEC 1) with increased running accuracy to P6 (ABEC 3). When designing the system, care must be taken to provide external sealing, as the bearing is supplied without internal seals.
A single-row roller bearing in SKF Explorer quality with an optimised internal design. It features a sheet steel cage and measures 100 mm internally, 215 mm externally and 73 mm in width. As an open bearing, it operates within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees and has standard radial clearance.
The NJ design has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to withstand high radial forces and guide the shaft axially in one direction. In the opposite direction, the inner ring allows for axial displacement to compensate for thermal linear expansion.
This model combines two tolerance classes: the dimensional accuracy corresponds to standard class P0 or PN (comparable to ABEC 1), whilst the running accuracy corresponds to the finer tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3. This ensures smooth, low-vibration operation with standard mounting dimensions for the connecting structure.
As this cylindrical roller bearing is an open design without integrated seals, the bearing housing must be sealed against dirt and moisture on site. Lubrication is provided via the surrounding machine housing, for example by means of oil or grease. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore.
The fact that the bearing can be dismantled makes it easier to fit and remove from machinery. The outer ring, together with the roller set and cage, can be fitted independently of the inner ring. This prevents damage to the raceways during assembly if the shaft and housing are prefabricated or joined separately.
Standard radial bearing clearance means that the bearing has the standard operating clearance between the rollers and raceways. It is suitable for normal operating conditions and temperature variations between the shaft and housing where no increased or reduced radial clearance is required.
