The SKF NJ2313 ECP cylindrical roller bearing (65x140x48 mm) is a single-row support bearing with a polyamide cage designed to withstand high radial loads.
The SKF NJ2313 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing with an optimised internal design in the Explorer series. With a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm, the bearing accommodates high radial loads. Due to the NJ design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring, which can be removed from one side, has a single flange. This configuration allows it to be used as a support bearing for single-sided axial fixation with normal radial clearance.
This bearing is used where high radial loads occur and the shaft needs to be guided in one axial direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement, thereby allowing thermal length changes in the shaft to be compensated for without restriction. Typical applications include shaft mountings with axial thrust limited on one side.
The integrated polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and promotes low-vibration operation. The open bearing, which has no integrated seal, is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. As the outer ring has no lubrication bore or groove, the lubricant is supplied via the housing. With dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) and improved running accuracy to P6 (ABEC 3), the bearing is suitable for precisely guided shafts.
The bearing has a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm. These dimensions are manufactured in accordance with current industry standards. The dimensions determine the design of the shaft and the housing seat for the single row of rollers.
The NJ design denotes a support bearing. The outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring has one flange. This enables the bearing to accommodate both radial forces and axial forces in one direction. In the opposite direction, the removable inner ring allows for axial displacement, which facilitates the compensation of thermal shaft expansion.
The permissible operating temperature ranges from -30 to +120 degrees. This range is determined by the thermal resistance of the polyamide cage and the dimensional stability of the components. To ensure trouble-free operation, a lubricant must be selected whose specifications fully cover this temperature range.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated grinding or cover discs. This allows for direct lubrication via the lubrication circuit of the parent assembly. Protection against dirt and moisture is provided by the design itself, using external sealing elements such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals in the housing.
The bearing combines two tolerance classes: Dimensional accuracy complies with standard class P0 or ABEC 1. For running accuracy, the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3 applies. This combination ensures precise guidance of the shaft whilst maintaining a standardised fit selection for the housing and the shaft seat.
The abbreviation ECP stands for an optimised internal design combined with a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the cage and minimises inertial forces. Furthermore, the material dampens vibrations, which contributes to smooth running and low noise levels in the rollers.
