The SKF NJ2312 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 60x130x46 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and single-sided axial guidance when used as a support bearing.
The NJ2312 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing in the SKF Explorer design with an optimised internal structure. The open design, without integrated seals, is designed for high radial loads. A polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction. With its standard radial clearance, the bearing is suitable for standardised mounting conditions at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
When used as a support bearing, this design accommodates not only high radial forces but also axial guidance forces from one direction. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless on one side and designed to be removable. Consequently, the bearing allows axial displacement in one direction, which compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft within the bearing housing.
Polyamide is characterised by its low weight compared to solid metal cages. This reduced mass minimises inertial forces during rapid speed changes and promotes low-vibration operation. Furthermore, this design offers dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 and running accuracy to P6 or ABEC 3. As the outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication bore, lubricant is supplied via the housing design.
A single-row roller bearing with a 60 mm bore, 130 mm outer diameter and 46 mm width. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to support the shaft axially in one direction whilst simultaneously withstanding very high radial loads.
The NJ design serves as a support bearing for single-sided axial guidance of a shaft. The inner ring can be pulled out in one direction, which facilitates installation. In the opposite direction, the fixed flange limits axial relative movement between the shaft and the housing.
The permissible operating range extends from -30 to +120 degrees. This range is primarily limited by the elastic polyamide cage. Within this temperature range, the cage material retains its mechanical strength and ensures that the roller sets remain dimensionally stable.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is in its unassembled state. It is suitable for common fit selections on shafts and housings, provided that no extreme temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation.
Dimensional accuracy complies with classes P0 and ABEC 1 respectively, whilst running accuracy complies with the tighter tolerance class P6 and ABEC 3 respectively. This ensures precise concentricity of the shaft whilst maintaining compatibility with standard mounting dimensions.
The bearing has no sealing washers, nor does the outer ring have a lubrication groove or bore. The lubricant – usually grease or gear oil – is applied directly via the housing design. This open system requires a clean environment or external sealing elements on the housing.
