The FAG NJ2307 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 35x80x31 mm, serves as a support bearing capable of withstanding high radial loads, featuring a polyamide cage.
The FAG NJ2307 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to the line contact between the rolling elements and the raceways, this design can withstand high radial loads. The NJ version features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. As a result, the design guides a shaft in the axial direction and compensates for changes in length towards the opposite side.
Design engineers specifically use this roller bearing as a support bearing when high radial loads occur in conjunction with light axial forces from a single direction. Typical applications include shaft mountings and drive units with axial limitation. As the inner ring can be removed from one side, both rings can be fitted separately. This feature facilitates precise installation on shafts and in housing bores, both for maintenance and in new designs.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a solid polyamide cage. This material ensures elastic roller guidance, lowers bearing noise and reduces the mass of the rotating parts. In combination with the increased C3 bearing clearance, the required operating clearance is maintained even when thermal expansion or tight fits reduce the radial clearance. The permissible temperature range for this open variant is from –30 to +120 °C.
This roller bearing has an internal bore diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 80 mm and a width of 31 mm. It complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 and has no lubrication hole in the non-grooved outer ring.
The designation NJ defines the arrangement of the guide flanges. The outer ring has two fixed flanges to guide the rollers, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange. As a result, the component acts as a support bearing that fixes shafts axially on one side whilst allowing axial movement in the opposite direction.
The C3 rating indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. It compensates for the loss of dimensions caused by the bearing rings being pressed onto the shaft and housing, as well as by temperature differences between the inner and outer rings during operation.
The cage, marked TVP2, is made of polyamide and guides the rollers with low friction. It is characterised by a low moment of inertia and good running characteristics. The material limits continuous thermal operation to a maximum temperature of +120 °C.
As an open roller bearing, this design has no integrated sealing washers. It requires external sealing of the bearing housing and can be operated with either grease or oil, with the lubricant directly wetting the exposed rolling elements and raceways.
The inner ring can be removed from one side, as its design means it has only one guide flange. This enables maintenance personnel to press the inner and outer rings onto the shaft and housing separately, which helps to prevent assembly errors.
