The FAG NJ2226 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing combines a 130 mm bore with increased C3 bearing clearance and serves as a support bearing for high radial loads.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NJ2226 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 from FAG, as a radial rolling bearing, primarily absorbs significant radial forces. With an inner diameter of 130 mm, an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 64 mm, the unit is suitable for demanding bearing applications in mechanical and plant engineering. Designed as an open bearing, the model can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems.
In the NJ design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring, which can be removed from one side, has a single fixed flange. This enables this cylindrical roller bearing to function as a support bearing. It transmits axial forces from one direction whilst simultaneously allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction. This property compensates in a controlled manner for heat-induced changes in the length of shafts during operation.
The integrated polyamide cage (TVP2) guides the rollers quietly and reduces the overall weight of the rolling element assembly. The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared to the standard value. This increased clearance prevents the rollers from becoming stressed when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings or when tight fits are used. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 130 mm, an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 64 mm. With a tolerance class of P0 or ABEC 1, this model meets standard accuracy requirements for industrial bearings.
The designation TVP2 refers to a window cage made of polyamide. Cages made from this material have good sliding properties, run quietly and guide the roller set with low friction. The cage is designed for use within the specified temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The designation C3 indicates a larger radial clearance than in the standard CN version. When heated, the inner ring expands more than the outer ring. The additional radial bearing clearance helps to ensure that the roller bearing does not seize up despite thermal expansion or a tight fit, and that the rollers roll freely.
Open designs do not feature integrated sliding or cover seals. This allows the designer to connect the bearing directly to an external circulating or grease lubrication system. With this type of bearing, protection against dirt and moisture is provided by external housing seals, allowing the lubricant to reach the raceways unhindered.
Thanks to the shoulders on the outer and inner rings, the NJ design absorbs axial forces from exactly one direction. In the opposite axial direction, the design allows for free movement. The unit therefore acts as a support bearing, compensates for shaft expansion and guides the shaft axially on one side.
The model is designed for a temperature range between -30 and +120 degrees. The thermal operating limit is largely determined by the polyamide cage and the operating fluids and lubricants used. It is essential to take these limits into account when selecting the grease or oil.
