The FAG NJ2222 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing (110x200x53 mm) offers high radial load capacity, single-sided axial guidance and robust guidance provided by a brass cage.
The NJ2222 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG in the NJ design. With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 53 mm, this open bearing can withstand high radial loads. Thanks to the flanges on the outer and inner rings, the component acts as a thrust bearing, thereby limiting axial displacement of the shaft in one direction.
Designs subject to significant radial loads typically use this design as a support bearing. Due to the line contact between the rollers and the raceway, the roller bearing withstands high radial forces. In combination with a suitable mating bearing, the NJ design also withstands axial forces on one side, whilst the inner ring can be removed separately for installation and maintenance purposes.
The M1 version features a brass cage that guides the rollers even under highly vibratory operating conditions. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) compensates for operational heating as well as fit allowances on the shaft or housing. As the bearing is of open design and the outer ring has no lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied directly via the housing cavity within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to function as a support bearing: in addition to significant radial loads, it also accommodates axial forces from one direction. The inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates the installation and alignment of the bearing assembly.
The bearing has an inner diameter (bore) of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 53 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The designation C3 indicates that the bearing has been manufactured with a slightly increased radial clearance. This increased radial clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming jammed should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings during operation, or should tight fits cause the inner ring to expand.
The M1 brass cage ensures stable guidance of the cylindrical rollers under high dynamic loads. Brass is characterised by good emergency running properties and damping, making this bearing suitable for demanding industrial applications involving shocks or vibrations.
As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no lubrication groove or bore of its own, lubrication is provided via the surrounding housing structure. Depending on the operating conditions, either oil or roller bearing grease is used within the permissible operating range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
No, this roller bearing does not have integrated electrical insulation. In applications where electrical current may pass through, external insulation measures must be provided on the surrounding mounting structure where necessary.
