The FAG NJ2214 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 70 mm bore, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and axial displacement for demanding industrial drives.
The NJ2214 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing of the NJ design, with dimensions of 70x125x31 mm. As a support bearing, this design accommodates not only very high radial forces but also axial guidance forces from one direction. FAG equips this open bearing with a polyamide cage and increased bearing clearance. This makes the component suitable for shaft mountings where operational heating or misalignment requires increased radial freedom of movement.
This bearing design is primarily used for high radial loads in industrial drives and gearboxes. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, the rolling bearing can accommodate high transverse forces. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This design enables axial length changes of the shaft to be compensated in one direction, whilst the opposite side is provided with axial guidance.
The TVP2 design refers to a polyamide cage which, due to its low mass inertia and elastic behaviour, has a vibration-damping effect. In combination with bearing clearance class C3, the bearing has greater radial clearance than the standard design. This serves to compensate for thermal expansion at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. As the bearing is of an open design, the lubricant and external housing seal can be flexibly adapted to the ambient conditions.
The dimensions are 70 mm internal diameter, 125 mm external diameter and 31 mm width. These standardised dimensions allow for integration into custom-made housings and onto suitable shaft seats.
An NJ bearing serves as a support bearing designed to accommodate high radial forces and unilateral axial forces. Two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring guide the rollers. The inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of both bearing rings.
The designation C3 indicates increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. The additional radial clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming stressed when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation, or when tight fits on the shaft reduce the radial clearance.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide window cage. This material reduces the weight of the component and ensures smooth running. It is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and ensures uniform guidance of the cylindrical rolling elements.
As the bearing is of an open design with no integrated seals, it can be flexibly lubricated with grease or lubricating oil. Protection against contamination and loss of lubricant is provided by external housing seals such as shaft seals or labyrinth systems.
This roller bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or PN in accordance with ISO, as well as ABEC 1. This tolerance class meets the standard requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy in mechanical engineering.
