The FAG NJ2212 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 60 mm bore, polyamide cage and increased C3 bearing clearance, offers high radial load-carrying capacity as a support bearing.
The NJ2212 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings with main dimensions of 60x110x28 mm. Due to the line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways, this design can withstand very high radial loads. In the NJ design, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This allows it to support shafts in the axial direction, whilst the inner ring remains removable from one side on the opposite end.
This bearing is used where assemblies must primarily carry high radial loads whilst simultaneously accommodating axial forces from one direction. Due to its support bearing function, the component guides the shaft axially on one side and allows axial displacement in the opposite direction. This design is particularly suitable for shaft mountings subject to thermally induced changes in length. The open design without an integrated seal allows for direct lubrication via the housing.
The designation letter TVP2 stands for a polyamide cage, which ensures quiet running and low friction. The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This additional bearing clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from seizing up if the rings expand due to heat build-up during operation or tight fits. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions for single-row cylindrical roller bearings of this size and allow for a precise fit when replacing bearings in existing housings.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to function as a support bearing, accommodating radial loads as well as axial forces in one direction. The inner ring can be pulled off to one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the bearing rings.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance in the as-supplied condition. This increased clearance between the rollers and raceways compensates for thermal expansion during operation and for radial constriction caused by tight shaft and housing fits, without the bearing seizing up.
The TVP2 cage is made of polyamide and maintains a precise spacing between the cylindrical rollers. This material is characterised by its low weight, elastic damping properties and smooth running. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This model is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers. It has neither a groove nor a lubrication bore on the outer ring. Protection against contamination and the retention of lubricant must therefore be achieved by means of external sealing elements in the surrounding housing structure.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 rating. This class meets the standard accuracy requirements of industrial mechanical engineering and offers a good balance between dimensional accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
