The SKF NJ2212 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, with dimensions of 60x110x28 mm, offers a high radial load capacity as well as axial guidance in one direction.
The SKF NJ2212 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with an optimised internal design in the Explorer performance class. It primarily accommodates high radial loads and provides single-sided axial guidance for shafts. With a bore of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm, the design is suitable for demanding bearing arrangements in mechanical engineering. The combination of a polyamide cage and standard radial clearance ensures smooth running within an operating temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees.
This design is primarily used in bearing arrangements where significant radial loads are present and axial length changes may occur. Due to the NJ design, the bearing functions as a support bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and remains removable on one side. This enables the bearing to compensate for axial length changes of the shaft in one direction and to support axial forces from the opposite direction. This also simplifies the separate installation of both bearing rings.
The ECP-type polyamide cage reduces friction within the bearing and enables smooth running whilst keeping the weight low. In the SKF Explorer design, the optimised internal geometry ensures favourable stress distribution across the raceways. With dimensional accuracy to P0 or ABEC 1 and increased running accuracy to P6 or ABEC 3, the bearing meets high industrial specifications. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, you should adapt the lubrication and housing sealing to the operating environment.
With an internal diameter of 60 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm, the bearing complies with standardised key dimensions. These dimensions allow it to be fitted onto suitable shafts and into matching housing bores. Thanks to the cylindrical bore, the bearing can be mounted directly onto the prepared cylindrical shaft seat.
The abbreviation NJ indicates the arrangement of the ring flanges: the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange. As a result, the bearing absorbs axial forces from one direction, whilst the inner ring remains axially movable in the opposite direction and can be removed from one side. This design functions as a support bearing.
A polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and damping properties. The component guides the cylindrical rollers precisely and operates with low friction. The permissible operating temperature range is between –30 and +120 degrees. During design, care must be taken to ensure the polyamide is compatible with the selected lubricant.
Two defined accuracy grades apply to this roller bearing: the dimensional accuracy complies with the standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, whilst the running accuracy complies with the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3. This combination ensures precise concentricity and contributes to low-vibration operation.
As this model is manufactured without integrated seals, protection against dirt and moisture is provided by the surrounding housing structure. Lubrication can be carried out using grease or oil. As the outer ring has no lubrication groove or bore, the lubricant is supplied from the side via the open bearing cross-section.
The roller bearing is designed with standard radial clearance, which corresponds to the standard specification without any additional suffix. This radial clearance compensates for typical fit allowances and operational heating. It is suitable for applications with normal thermal conditions on the shaft and housing.
