The NJ2210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing (50x90x23 mm) serves as a single-row support bearing designed to accommodate high radial loads whilst allowing for thermal shaft expansion.
The FAG NJ2210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing for industrial applications subject to significant radial loads. Due to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, this design can withstand significantly higher transverse forces than conventional deep-groove ball bearings of the same size. The inner ring has a flange on one side and can be removed, which facilitates the installation of separate bearing seats. This open bearing has tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and does not have lubrication holes in the outer ring.
Design engineers primarily use this design for rotating shafts subject to predominant transverse forces and single-sided axial support. As the inner ring is guided on one side only, the bearing acts as a support bearing. It absorbs axial forces in one direction and compensates for axial length changes of the shaft in the opposite direction without constraint. Designs with fixed-position run-out shoulders benefit from the ability to disassemble the bearing, as the inner and outer rings can be pressed in separately.
The TVP2 variant features a polyamide cage, which has a noise-damping effect and keeps friction to a minimum. In combination with the increased radial clearance (C3), the component is suitable for operating conditions with significant temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. The additional radial clearance prevents harmful stress concentrations caused by operational heating in the temperature range from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As no sealing washers are fitted, lubrication is provided by the surrounding lubrication system.
The designation NJ refers to a cylindrical roller bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This allows the bearing to support axial forces in one direction, whilst retaining axial displacement in the opposite direction. The inner ring can be removed from one side.
The suffix C3 indicates a larger radial bearing clearance than in the standard version. This increased operating clearance compensates for dimensional changes caused by tight fits of the rings or thermal expansion at operating temperatures. It prevents premature seizing of the rolling elements under thermal load.
The abbreviation TVP2 refers to a solid polyamide window cage. This material is lightweight, dampens running noise and results in lower friction than many metal cages. The cage maintains the rollers at a defined distance and retains its shape within the permissible temperature range.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for direct installation in standardised housing and shaft seats.
An open bearing has no integrated sealing washers, allowing lubricating oils or greases to circulate freely. This results in lower frictional resistance at higher speeds. In such designs, protection against contaminants and moisture must be provided by external seals fitted to the machine housing.
The NJ2210 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the temperature resistance of the polyamide cage and the dimensional stability of the rings.
