The FAG NU303 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing with a 17 mm bore accommodates high radial loads and allows for axial length compensation.
The FAG NU303 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is designed as a single-row rolling bearing for industrial applications involving high radial loads. Thanks to the line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the raceway, the design can withstand high radial forces. With standardised key dimensions of a 17 mm bore, 47 mm outer diameter and 14 mm width, this roller bearing can be fitted in space-saving, precisely matched bearing arrangements.
As a non-locating bearing, this design absorbs purely radial forces and compensates for axial shaft displacement directly within the rolling bearing. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering and in industrial powertrains where shafts expand as a result of operational heating. As the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless, the shaft moves relative to the housing without causing harmful stresses in the bearing seat.
The designation ‘NU’ indicates that the inner ring can be removed from both sides. This feature simplifies assembly and maintenance processes, as both rings can be press-fitted onto the shaft and housing independently of one another. The integrated polyamide cage guides the roller elements with low friction and contributes to quiet running. The open bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and requires an appropriate lubricant supply via the housing.
The main dimensions are 17 mm internal diameter (bore), 47 mm external diameter and 14 mm width. These standardised dimensions ensure a precise fit when installed in housings and shaft seats within the relevant installation space.
The NU design denotes a non-locating bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides, which facilitates separate assembly and compensates for axial changes in the length of the shaft.
The bearing features a polyamide cage (designated TVP2). This material is characterised by its low weight and elastic properties, and contributes to quiet operation. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The model is manufactured with a standard radial bearing clearance. This factory setting is suitable for typical fit selections and standard operating conditions in mechanical engineering, where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
As this is an open bearing with no sealing washers and no lubrication hole in the outer ring, external lubrication is required. The bearing is supplied with grease or lubricating oil via the surrounding housing structure.
The bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This precision grade meets industrial requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy in standardised applications.
