The FAG NJ316 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with an 80 mm bore and C3 clearance, offers high radial load-carrying capacity for demanding industrial applications.
The FAG NJ316 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for demanding shaft mountings subject to high radial loads. With key dimensions of an 80 mm bore, 170 mm outer diameter and 39 mm width, the design withstands high loads whilst maintaining high rigidity. Thanks to its manufacture to standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, the open bearing fits precisely into industrial assemblies. The elastic polyamide cage also ensures smooth running during operation.
As a support bearing with fixed flanges on the outer ring and an inner ring that can be removed from one side, this design guides shafts axially in one direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement, thereby compensating for thermal length changes in the shaft without inducing stress. This design is primarily used in bearing arrangements where, in addition to dominant radial loads, unilateral guiding forces are also present. The open bearing allows for flexible lubrication with oil or grease.
The designation TVP2 refers to a polyamide cage that combines low weight with good damping properties. The increased radial bearing clearance (C3) provides additional clearance between the rollers and raceways. This clearance prevents the bearing from becoming stressed should heating during operation or tight shaft fits reduce the radial clearance. When designing the bearing, the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees and an external housing seal to protect the raceway must be taken into account.
With an internal diameter of 80 mm, an external diameter of 170 mm and a width of 39 mm, this design complies with standardised key dimensions. The outer ring is manufactured without a groove or a lubrication bore, which should be taken into account in the housing design.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to absorb axial forces in one direction, whilst allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction. The inner ring can be removed from one side to facilitate assembly.
With bearing clearance group C3, the radial bearing clearance is slightly greater than the standard clearance. It is recommended where there are temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, or where tight fits restrict the operating clearance. The additional bearing clearance prevents radial stress.
In the TVP2 version, the cage is made of polyamide and is characterised by low inertia and smooth running. The material has vibration-damping properties and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
Without integrated sealing washers, the open bearing requires sealing via the surrounding housing structure to prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture. Depending on the operating conditions, lubrication is provided by grease or oil from the overall system.
The component complies with standard tolerance class P0 or PN in accordance with DIN and ISO specifications, which corresponds to ABEC 1. This precision grade meets the standard accuracy requirements for dimensional, form and running tolerances in general mechanical and plant engineering.
