The FAG NJ2213 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing withstands high radial loads and, with dimensions of 65x120x31 mm, provides single-sided axial support.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, model NJ2213 -E-XL-M1-C3, is designed to support rotating shafts under heavy radial loads. The manufacturer, FAG, equips this version with a solid brass cage and the increased clearance class C3. As the rolling bearing has an open design, it can be integrated into a customer-supplied lubrication system. Designs subject to impact forces or thermal influences benefit from this combination of material and internal geometry.
The NJ2213 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing is suitable as a support bearing for applications with a predominant radial load and additional unilateral axial forces. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring, which enables the rolling bearing to limit axial displacement in one direction. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering for shaft mountings subject to combined loads. The solid brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers stably, even under vibration.
The combination of the M1 brass cage and the C3 radial clearance provides the bearing with thermal and mechanical reserves. A brass cage is characterised by high strength under vibrational loads. The increased operating clearance to C3 compensates for dimensional changes when tight fits are fitted to the shaft and housing, or when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow it to be fitted onto suitable shafts and into compatible bearing housings.
The NJ design features a thrust bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to withstand axial loads in one direction, whilst allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction. Furthermore, the inner ring can be removed from one side to simplify installation.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This is intended to prevent the rollers from jamming if tight press fits cause the bearing rings to expand, or if operational heat causes the inner ring to expand more than the outer ring.
The solid brass cage, designated M1, offers dimensional stability under dynamic loads. Brass is a material that exhibits high resistance to vibration and ensures the stable guidance of the cylindrical rollers within the rolling system.
As an open roller bearing without integrated sealing washers, this design requires an external supply of grease or oil via the housing. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is fed into the rolling element chamber from the side.
The roller bearing is specified for use within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. Operation at the temperature limits requires the selection of a suitable lubricant and takes into account the thermally induced dimensional changes in the associated components.
