The FAG NU310 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing offers high radial load-carrying capacity with dimensions of 50x110x27 mm for demanding industrial applications.
This single-row NU310 -E-XL-M1-C3 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG absorbs high radial forces when used as a non-locating bearing. The design, with its line contact between the cylindrical rollers, enables it to withstand high radial forces. The inner ring has no flanges and can be removed from either side, which facilitates installation. As an open rolling bearing without seals, this design is intended for operation in lubricated housings.
Bearings of this type are used in applications where thermal linear expansion of the rotating shaft must be compensated for without constraint. As the inner ring remains axially movable in both directions relative to the roller set, no internal stresses arise due to axial thermal expansion. The solid brass cage guides the cylindrical rolling elements securely within the raceway and is suitable for operating conditions involving increased mechanical loads, vibrations or rapid changes in speed.
The brass design is characterised by high strength and guides the rollers precisely even during high acceleration. In addition, the bearing features the increased radial clearance C3. This additional clearance between the rolling elements and raceways helps to prevent seizing when operating temperatures of up to +150 degrees occur or when tight fits reduce the radial clearance after installation. The classification in tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 defines dimensional accuracy in accordance with the relevant standards.
The dimensions are 50 mm bore diameter, 110 mm outer diameter and 27 mm width. The outer ring is designed without a groove or lubrication hole, whilst the inner ring remains removable from both sides.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. As a result, the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing. The inner ring can be withdrawn from both ends, which allows separate rings to be fitted onto the shaft and housing.
The designation M1 indicates a brass cage which guides the rollers and withstands mechanical loads. The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance. This design is intended to compensate for thermal expansion caused by heat build-up during operation without causing stress.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. In practice, suitability depends largely on the lubricant used. As no sealing washers are fitted, the housing seal and the lubricant determine the effective temperature limits of the application.
Manufacturing is carried out in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 as the standard tolerance. This specification sets out standardised requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy for rotating shafts in mechanical engineering.
As an open-type bearing, it has no integrated seals. Protection against foreign particles and moisture, as well as retaining the lubricant, must be provided by the surrounding housing structure, for example by means of external sealing elements.
