The SKF NU315 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row non-locating bearing measuring 75x160x37 mm, offers a high radial load-carrying capacity for demanding industrial applications.
This NU-type cylindrical roller bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side, facilitating installation and removal. The Explorer version features an optimised internal design that ensures even load distribution. Thanks to its open design without seals, the roller bearing is suitable for external lubrication circuits using oil or grease.
This design accommodates high radial forces whilst simultaneously compensating for axial changes in shaft length. As the inner ring has no flanges, the shaft moves freely within the bearing during thermal expansion. Its use is recommended in bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads and thermal expansion. This floating bearing is not intended for purely axial loads, which is why it is usually combined with a separate fixed bearing.
The suffix ECP denotes a polyamide cage and an optimised internal design. The cage guides the cylindrical rollers precisely and is characterised by its low weight and elastic running characteristics. The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. With dimensional accuracy to P0 and increased running accuracy to P6, the component meets defined requirements for concentricity and low-vibration operation.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. As a result, the bearing functions purely as a support bearing and allows for axial displacement of the shaft directly between the roller set and the inner ring. Furthermore, the inner ring can be fitted separately, which makes installation and removal in housings easier.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions for cylindrical roller bearings in this series. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore, so lubricant is supplied via the adjacent structure.
The abbreviation ECP denotes an optimised internal design combined with a polyamide cage. This design is engineered to improve handling characteristics and, thanks to the lightweight cage material, ensures favourable friction conditions during operation.
This cylindrical roller bearing combines the dimensional accuracy of standard class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) with the increased running accuracy of class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3). This classification offers improved concentricity, which reduces vibration and running noise during rotation.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees. The limiting factor here is the material of the polyamide cage. Within this temperature range, the cage retains its mechanical strength and elasticity.
The bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance. This clearance is suitable for standard installation conditions with typical fits and moderate temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
