The FAG NU313 -E-XL-TVP2-C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 65 mm bore, polyamide cage and C3 clearance, provides a high-load-capacity idler bearing for radial forces.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, model NU313 -E-XL-TVP2-C3, is designed as a non-locating bearing. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can accommodate high radial loads. This design is manufactured by FAG and has main dimensions of 65 mm inner diameter, 140 mm outer diameter and 33 mm width. As the inner ring has no flanges, it can be removed from either side, which in practice facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel primarily use this design where purely radial forces are present and operational changes in shaft length must be compensated for without causing stress. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering as well as in shaft bearings subject to high radial loads. The NU design accommodates linear expansion directly within the bearing. The open bearing, which has no integrated seal, operates in lubricated housings, with a permissible temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard clearance. This variant is recommended where temperature differences occur between the shaft and housing, or where tight fits reduce the operating clearance after installation. The TVP2 polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration and is characterised by its low weight. The bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. When designing the system, it should be noted that the non-locating bearing cannot accommodate axial forces.
The NU design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be pulled out axially from either side. The bearing acts as a non-locating bearing and allows for the compensation of thermal linear expansion of the shaft within the rolling element set.
With an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. The outer ring has neither a lubrication groove nor a lubrication bore. The bearing is manufactured in accordance with the standard dimensional and running tolerances of tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The abbreviation C3 denotes a radial bearing clearance that is slightly greater than normal when the bearing is supplied. This additional clearance between the rollers and the raceway counteracts tightening should operational heating or tight fits reduce the radial operating clearance.
The designation TVP2 refers to a solid window cage made of polyamide. This material reduces the weight of the cage, dampens running noise and ensures smooth guidance of the cylindrical rollers. The cage limits the bearing’s permissible operating temperature range to between -30 and +120 degrees.
As an open roller bearing, this design has no integrated seals. Protection against dirt and moisture, as well as the supply of grease or oil, must be provided by the surrounding housing structure. This facilitates application-specific lubrication within the enclosed housing.
