The FAG NJ2206 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing (30x62x20 mm) accommodates high radial loads as well as unilateral axial forces.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, model NJ2206 -E-XL-TVP2 from FAG, combines a high radial load capacity with a support bearing function. The main dimensions are a bore diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 20 mm. Due to the NJ design, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This allows the bearing to accommodate axial forces in one direction, whilst the inner ring remains removable from one side to facilitate installation.
Designs subject to high radial loads benefit from the rigid construction of this rolling bearing. It serves as a support bearing in bearing arrangements where shaft positions must be guided in an axial direction. In the event of thermal length changes in the shaft, the design allows for the necessary axial displacement in the opposite direction. As the inner ring is removable from one side, the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately, which simplifies installation in confined spaces.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage that guides the cylindrical rollers. Polyamide is characterised by its low weight and promotes vibration-damped, quiet running. The bearing is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. As this is an open bearing without a seal and without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring, the lubricant is supplied directly via the housing design.
A single-row roller bearing of the NJ series can withstand very high radial loads and supports axial loads from one direction. The outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless on one side. This allows for disassembly during installation and compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 30 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a width of 20 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into housings and onto shafts, whilst minimising the space required.
The suffix TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. It helps to ensure smooth running of the rolling elements and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
Unlike NU bearings, which, as purely radial bearings, do not absorb axial forces, the NJ design features a flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to function as a support bearing. It absorbs axial forces in the direction of the flange, whilst allowing displacement in the opposite direction.
This rolling bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance, which is designed for standard fits and typical operating temperatures. The dimensional and geometric accuracy complies with the standardised tolerance class P0 or Normal (PN), which also corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification.
As this is an open design without sealing washers, the bearing is not factory-filled with grease. Before commissioning, it must be lubricated with a suitable lubricating oil or bearing grease via the surrounding structure to prevent dry running and wear.
