The nu226-e-xl-tvp2-c3 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager, with an outer diameter of 230 mm, a polyamide cage and C3 radial clearance, provides reliable guidance under high radial loads.
The nu226-e-xl-tvp2-c3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager designed for demanding industrial applications. As an open bearing with a cylindrical bore, its design is primarily intended to withstand high radial loads. As it does not feature integrated seals, the component is suitable for designs with external housing seals and targeted lubricant supply. With an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 40 mm, this bearing meets demanding installation requirements in mechanical and plant engineering.
This cylindrical roller bearing is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements that must withstand high radial forces at moderate to high speeds. Typical applications include industrial bearing arrangements subject to purely radial loads and acting as idler bearings. As the bearing is designed to allow axial movement, it easily compensates for operational thermal expansion of shafts. The open design facilitates integration into existing oil or grease lubrication systems, whilst the permissible temperature range of –30 to +120 °C allows for a wide range of industrial applications.
The nu226-e-xl-tvp2-c3 design features a lightweight polyamide cage and a slightly increased radial clearance (C3). The plastic cage reduces the weight of the rotating parts and ensures quiet, vibration-damped operation of the rolling elements. The C3 bearing clearance provides the necessary leeway when temperature differences occur between the shaft and the housing, or when tight fits reduce the radial clearance during operation. This reduces the risk of the rollers seizing up and counteracts premature wear.
The bearing has an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 40 mm, and features a cylindrical bore. These dimensions define the mounting geometry in housings and on shafts. Before fitting, check the mating parts to ensure the rings fit correctly.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with standard bearing clearance. This increased clearance between the rollers and the raceways compensates for thermal expansion during operation or significant oversize during press-fitting. This ensures that the bearing continues to run smoothly even under demanding thermal conditions.
The polyamide cage guides the rollers with low friction and is characterised by its low weight. Compared with solid metal cages, the material dampens running noise and withstands dynamic accelerations well. In combination with the specified lubricant, the cage ensures smooth running within a temperature range up to +120 °C.
Open cylindrical roller bearings do not have integrated sealing washers. This design allows for direct lubrication via the surrounding system, for example through an oil bath or a recirculating lubrication system. At the same time, the bearing is easier to handle during maintenance work or installation, whilst external housing seals provide protection against contamination.
The bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 °C. The temperature limits are determined by the dimensional stability of the bearing components and the polyamide cage. Ensure that you select a lubricant whose specification is also approved for the temperatures encountered during operation.
